Cookies are small files stored on your device. Some are needed to make the site work. The rest are optional, and none of the optional ones run until you say yes.
Your choice
When you first visit, you are asked whether to allow optional cookies. Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting, and nothing optional is switched on in advance. You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie settings button in the corner of every page.
One honest limitation: turning something off stops it from the next page view onwards. Anything already loaded during this visit cannot be recalled.

Analytics and advertising are switched together
Our analytics and advertising tags are delivered through a single Google Tag Manager container that we do not control directly, and one of the advertising tags inside it ignores Google's own consent settings. Because of that we cannot load the analytics half without also loading the advertising half.
So the practical position is: if you refuse advertising cookies, none of them load at all. If you accept advertising but refuse analytics, the advertising tags load and the analytics ones are switched off inside them. We would rather explain that plainly than offer you a choice that does not do what it appears to.
Measuring visits without cookies
We use Lumara Analytics to count visits. It does not set any cookie, does not store anything on your device, and does not identify you or follow you between websites. Because it stores nothing on your device it runs without needing consent. We have listed it here anyway so you know it exists.
Booking and maps
Our booking pages open our booking providers, Jane and Cliniko, and some pages show a map. Those services set their own cookies once you use them, under their own policies. Nothing loads until you choose to book or interact with a map.
Keeping a record
If you send us an enquiry, we record what your cookie choice was at that moment, alongside your message. That is so we can show what you had agreed to at the time you contacted us. It is not used for marketing.
